We wish that considerations of space did not prevent us from giving an adequate and comprehensive review of this most valuable aiyi important addition to medical literature. With this volume the series of medical, as apart from general, official records of the Great War terminates, and in it there is struck an individual note rather different from that in the previous volumes. Section by section it is a record, based upon full access to all the documents and upon a huge statistical basis, written by'the leading authorities upon each disease concerned. Sir William Leishman in 31 pages attempts to summarise the wonderful organisation of the pathological service of the war, beginning with the modest supply of specialist pathologists in 1914, passing on to the formation of mobile laboratories in different theatres, the training of protozoologists under Professor Clifford Dobell and Colonel C. M. Wenyon at the Wellcome
